As my way of celebrating the upcoming July 4th Oil-dependence Day I am substituing my drive to and from work with a bike for now on (with the exception of heavy storms)

Forking over $70 a week is getting old and its not going to get any better. What we are paying now for gas Europe was paying 2 years ago. Right now Europe pays about $8 a gallon so most likely that is where we will be in 2 more years.

Its pretty easy to commute by bike here in Austin though, most likely why Lance Armstrong lives here I guess.

Our commuter rail system starts this fall and it stops a block away from where I live The train has wifi, bike racks and goes all the way downtown. Last stop is at the Lance Armstrong Bikeway, like a highway for bikes that goes from one side of downtown to the other.
